And that's pretty cool, because he goes by the very short stage name of Akon. Which would probably bring you to question my sudden fascination with Akon. Well it's like this - a few weeks ago, Ari, Sansan and Yuhan were singing his apparent smash hit called Smack That. They were talking about how Akon went around smacking booties of white chicks during the MTV Awards. And this discussion didn't go on once or twice, it'd go on for weeks and I inevitably got pulled in when Yuhan sent me the song. So after listening to it on repeat mode for 20 times, I must conclude that I have been Konvicted. It must be voodoo, but I frickin love Smack That.

Ok Evelyn, ENOUGH. #$%. A real update: We had a great time playing at Street Clap! 3Dash1 were awesome and it was even more awesome covering the Foo Fighters with them. Nassir and Ashik, thank you. Also, thank you all for coming to our show and even standing in the rain - it meant alot to us and we appreciate it wholeheartedly. Hans, thank you so much for filming our performances all these years - you should start charging us you know. Jabez, thanks for the interview, we've learnt alot about ourselves through that documentation! Pushpinder, thank you for ferrying our instruments to Al-Azhaar, you truly are a BPian. Oh yes! And we'll let you in on something juicy.. We've been recording our old songs and writing new ones. I can't wait to let yall hear them out. =] Please stay tuned to the ArPee channel.

On a sadder note, Ari has left us for An Ass. He enlisted for BMT on Thursday and we'll be picking him up on Friday. I hope he brings back souvenirs like an "I love NS" keychain or a "Got Hair?" cap or a "Warning: NS Man on board!" car decal. Kidding. We'd burn them if those things existed, yes we would. Evelyn is so much better at this than I am but I figured that I might as well take my chances and try my hands at this. It would be nice to say, 'Firstly' right now, but since I already tried to absolve myself of any wrongdoing in the first part of this blog, I'm just gonna settle for 'Secondly'. But I really want you to know that by 'Secondly', I really mean 'Firstly'. And in no other way would we at ArPee want it. Cause that's the way we want and need it. All night. Every night. So... Ok. Let's get this fire started shall we?

Secondly, ArPee would like to say honto arigato to the MOSH Comm for letting us be part of such a great event as MOSH'07. We look forward to working with you guys and girls again! We would also like to give a supercalifragilisticespeallydocious shout out to all the bands that were involved in the event like (Ok, this goes in no particular order of preference or merit rather alphabetically as far as I can recount and spell.) A Vacant Affair, Caracal, Charles Lim, Chicosci, Kate Of Kale, Kiosai, No Direction, Super Illegals and The Vinyl Summer.The atmosphere was really great cause we felt that the bands were there for each other and like gave each other not only morale boosting support but also logistical support (like the loaning of drum kits and cables and what not).

Though realistically, it is not possible for me to say all the above and what I'm about to say in one single breath, I'm gonna say that I did it that way anyways cause these days it's really cool to be trying to do that and end up choking on your lines. I know. So emo right? So.. And in the same breath, we would also like to say a big thank you to all who came for the show and showed us your lovin! It's been so long since we last performed, close to 16 months already and we really appreciated the fact that you guys were the most electricfying crowd that we have ever played to in our gigging history! I'm not really good with names, so I'm gonna rattle some that comes to mind. If you feel that you deserve to be on the roll call, give us a shabooya and some spirit fingers and we'll add you in! =) Cause we really don't wanna be missing out on people that we should be saying thanks to. So... Thanks Carmen, Kev, Rico, Jeremy, Jabez, Bianca, Jasmine(?), Ana, Zul, Egane, HeroicNoAvail, Yuhua, Timothy, Randall, Fairoz and Roslan of SevenFalls, Khai, Charlene, Mudz of DYL (Did I get it right?), Jialing & Co. Ok here's another piece of news that Evelyn forgot to add. I'll be replacing Evelyn on vocals in our bid to gain a greater mass appeal as there are more people in this world who can't sing than those who can. It's been a while and I'll stop coming up with excuses for our absence. But I'll be frank with one thing: Ari Ihsan Louey and I are busy with our respective exams. That earlier promise about having new material is still sticking though. Come November? December? Hopefully. We don't know. But we're gonna take our time about things from now on and most importantly have fun and feel lazy. It's the sole reason we formed the band in the first place.

Anyhow, here are some pieces of important information.

Numero Uno: Louis, our drummer, has decided to leave the band but things are okay. We wish him all the best. (I am not being sarcastic if you're thinking I am.)

2: Incubus are coming up with their new album Light Grenades this November. Sorry I'm such a biased asshole.

What I would describe our music to be like...

It's like what this friend of mine felt when he got caught by his mom masturbating just at the moment he got his orgasm. Which was hardcore cause like he tried to hide it away from her and managed to get his semen all over his keyboard. In short, it was like a cathartic release of so many pent up emotions. Yes, our music is probably like that.

Well, ok. Be shy about it. But buy them a drink first. It might soften them up a little bit.

Oh yeah, we had to like kick Jon outta the band cause of like musical differences. I mean the fact that he only wanted to play the E's and A's on the G-string for every song, really said something about a guy who got the job in the first place based on the distinction he got for music in his Sec 2 education in Jalan Ramai-Ramai Secondary School. It was truly unfortunate that our trust and belief in his talents were misplaced.We are now placing our hopes on Ari who has thus far impressed us with his uncanny ability to play 'Do-Re-Mi" without breaking into a song and dance on his Samsung mobile phone.

WHADDUP PALS! Just so you know, we miss all of you and we miss this. The band hasn't seen much activity because we've all been busy, but we know that's not a good excuse to neglect the band. Ok people, if you have been checking out our purevolume site religiously for the past week, you'd have noticed that we have a show slated this coming 18th August. So.... come catch us at the Prince of Wales pub on the 18th August @ 9.30 PM (Singapore Local Time). If you do not know where the Prince of Wales, then to be honest, it's really hard to describe it to you and where have you been exactly the last time round ArPee performed there eh? Feeling guilty now here are we? Ok, i give. I give. You take any bus that goes to Little India. Any bus service that actually plies the little india route with the least amount of decency ought to stop in front of Tekka Mall. Ok so now you stop right in front of Tekka Mall right.. you go into the Foodmore Foodcourt. DO NOT BE DISTRACTED BY THE FOOD. Getting to ArPee's show is the priority here remember? So, ok once you've infiltrated the place, head for the exit door behind. It's a glass door. You would not miss it. Cause if you do, you'd know it cause you'd feel a sharp pain either in the nose, forehead, chest or crotch. Depending on your sex, physical properties and walking posture. You might hit your knee first too. Ok, so once you get out of that door, you'd strafe right abit. And you'd then notice the Prince of Wales banner right in front of you. Then, you know you are nearing the Rendezvous Point already. So knowing full well of where the pub is, you ought to make a mad dash for the nearest money changer, change all of your money to five dollar notes and then rush to the pub and catch ArPee live. Yeap! Hope that was helpful!

Alright. Yesterday's show was great! Absolutely great! The crowd was absolutely great! There was this feeling that the band and the crowd were really connected cause everytime i said 'Blow' they sort of finished the sentence for me by saying 'Job'. Now if that's not connection then i don't know what is.

Following that, there are a few people that the band would like to give a shout out to... Not in order of merit, we would like to thank Colin (Thanks for the sound!), Terence (Thanks for the chance!), Dorothy (Thanks for encouragement and being on standby to stand in for me!), Rico and Jeremy (Thanks for being our cameramen and supporting us!) Khien (Thanks for coming to our show! This is like the 6th ArPee show you've been to right?), Hans (Thanks for coming down to support us yet again!), Eric (Ok, i'm not really sure whether you were there or not cause i wasn't able to see you.. BUT, you deserve a thank you mention nonetheless for supporting us! So..Thank you!), Isaac and Jay (Thanks for like coming to our show yet again and supporting us even though you guys had to pay for it and all.), Carmen (Thanks for coming down to support us and then calling me an AhPek and then refusing to let me see the video of the band cause most of the times i'm not even in it! For those of you who caught us yesterday and have watched us before previously, well, it was probably not the best of our shows. The technical mishaps as Khien has put it was as frustrating to us as it must have been for a car full of queers getting pulled over for doing a 69 on a 55. However, the band did have as much fun as possible. We'd like to thank all of you for your continual support. I'm not good with names so i'm going to try to name all those that i can remember who came and saw us. Ok here it goes, thanks to Dorothy, Mint, Jem, Kelvin, Sameer of Set for Glory, Nic of Second Storey, Rico, Joyce, Khien and Eric of Heroic No Avail, Sameer's friend whom i didn't manage to get the name, Nic's friend whom i didn't manage to get the name, Ah Pek and Shaggy and their friends whom i didn't manage to get the names, Rizal and Sandra for well wishes on our blog and to those surfer dudes who wanted us to play a few more songs but we were totally zoned out and couldn't hear them that well.

Of course not to forget the organisers, AFUA. Their efforts to actually create platforms for local acts to perform on should be lauded as those of event organisers such as platformthelabel and also DoubleYellowLine. Ok i hope i did not forget anybody. And i know some of you requested that the lyrics to our songs be displayed on our blog. Well, we're really considering that and we appreciate such suggestions.

Friday was SUPERB, pals. Really. (: We played beside a fantastic band, to a fantastic crowd, at a fantastic venue. We couldn't ask for a better experience.

Ok people, if you have been checking out our purevolume site religiously for the past week, you'd have noticed that we have a show slated this coming 17th June. So.... come catch us at the Prince of Wales pub on the 17th June @ 9.30 PM (Singapore Local Time). If you do not know where the Prince of Wales, then to be honest, it's really hard to describe it to you. Ok here's how. You take any bus that goes to Little India. Any bus service that actually plies the little india route with the least amount of decency ought to stop in front of Tekka Mall. Ok so now you stop right in front of Tekka Mall right.. you go into the Foodmore Foodcourt. DO NOT BE DISTRACTED BY THE FOOD. Getting to ArPee's show is the priority here remember? So, ok once you've infiltrated the place, head for the exit door behind. It's a glass door. You would not miss it. Cause if you do, you'd know it cause you'd feel a sharp pain either in the nose, forehead, chest or crotch. Depending on your sex, physical properties and walking posture. You might hit your knee first too. Ok, so once you get out of that door, you'd strafe right abit. And you'd then notice the Prince of Wales banner right in front of you. Then, you know you are nearing the Rendezvous Point already. So knowing full well of where the pub is, you ought to make a mad dash for the nearest money changer, change all of your money to five dollar notes and then rush to the pub and catch ArPee live. Yeap! Hope that was helpful!

One helpful thing in turn could be, can someone please recommend me places where i can send my bass guitar for a quick repair at a reasonable price? Thanks.

The band is currently in talks with a few people. namely their family and friends. We're still alive. And we're excitingly waiting for Ihsan's return from the States so that we can work on whatever we've already worked on. So hope to see you guys at our next show.

Meanwhile, 3 months ago, we set up a purevolume site to load up songs for our own referencing. And 3 months on, we've already had more than 800 views and more than 400 play clicks. This is very encouraging indeed and we hope to add more stuff that you guys can listen to. So keep on clicking even if its for no good reason and if you have alot of time to burn. And remember to throw at us five dollar notes if u see us play next time round.

My flowering laptop broke down but it's finally fixed, so I figure I'll do a post before it cranks up again.

A band update: Ihsan has flown to Atlanta for a month, so there'll be no gigging until June. The rest of the Pointes miss him dearly, but it's a good chance for the band to work on new material and we promise you all that we'll keep going on. This can only get better! :)

It's Easter sunday today and since i'm free i thought i'd post a blog thanking all you guys and girls who came to watch us perform at the 3rd place on 25th March. For those of you who watched us for the second time at the 3rd place, thanks for supporting us through and through and as corny as it sounds maybe you can hope to see us again for the third time at the 3rd place. It was simply awesome to have performed infront of you guys. Especially with all the catcalling and screaming. You guys are certainly the liveliest crowd we've ever played to. Thanks!

Also, I would like to thank everybody who has come to this blogsite through the purevolume site that we have set up. The last I checked, 199 people went to that website. And it certainly is encouraging to find the numbers growing! Appreciate it!

Right now, the band is working on its various projects(like how to throw the guitar around and around and around while playing...) and so we hope to see you guys at our next show! So keep on rocking! Walk within beauty, dream within grace.

It's sad day for us all. Blink 182 has announced their indefinite hiatus. I was worried about this. There were rumours that cracks were appearing in the band. Haiz.. i hope that they will decide to keep on playing and i'll be able to catch at least one of their shows before i die. Gone are the days when talking about blowjobs and paedophiles on stage was an ok thing to do. Gone are the days when cussing and dissing on stage was an ok thing to do. It's a very sad day for us all. And to think they decided to take it sometime near my birthday. haiz.. sad day. if only someone got me the urethra chronicles, everything would be fine right now. Blink 182 saw me thru lots of stuff. i still remember practising songs by them. working hard on them. I still remember watching their videos and analysing their songs. I still remember watching them run around naked in the what's my age again video over and over again. i still remember, telling myself that someday, i'll be just like mark hoppus. i still remember spending hours and days reading up stories about them. i still remember spending time to write songs just like they did only to fail miserably. i still remember arguing with someone just caused he said that anybody could play like blink 182 and nothing went into their songs.

It's been more than a decade since they've been together. I just hope that they will stay together for the fans. Here's to my hero, Mark Hoppus! Shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker, tits, fart, turd and twat. Salutations!

To be honest with you guys, I've always thought that ArPee wouldn't be here if i didn't get obsessed with Blink-182 and trying to be just like em. ArPee wouldn't be here if i always felt like putting up performance just like they did. ArPee wouldn't be here if i wasn't into Blink-182 and rose above the initial feelings of being rejected from a band and meeting evelyn outside the toilet and forming a band with her. So yeap, it's a sad day for me, for us all.

Okay I referred to my handy dandy bus guide and realised one can get to the Yusof Ishak Hall (that's where doubleyellowline:inhabitant, our gig, will be held at) by 3 buses:

95: Loop service between North Buona Vista Terminal and Kent Ridge Terminal.

96: Loop service from Clementi Interchange. Personally I feel this is the easiest route to take, cause it's near Clementi MRT Station.

Upon your exit from the ticketing machines, turn left and board the escalator.
Follow the sheltered pathway; it'll lead you to the interchange.
Alight at the 9th stop, which is the stop after the chinese library bus stop (the interchange being the first stop).
Cross the road and whoopadeedoo, the Yusof Ishak House should be within walking distance. That's what the map tells me lah at least

151: Hougang Central and Kent Ridge. For NP students you can board it from the bus stop opposite NP and alight at the 10th stop. Don't have to cross the road.

Quite boringly comprehensive I know. I don't know how to get there myself actually, haha! Shall ask the organisers for directions. Hope this helps man. :)

Finally got this opportunity to blog/log into this blog. Ok let me see where do we begin? Well the band has been progressing that's something. We've come up with pretty neat new material that somehow we're not interested on working on. Seems to me we're all caught up covering than focussing on our originals as we had proposed a few weeks back. So that's something. I have no idea what's gonna happen next, but i assure u, it'll be an exciting chapter for ArPee and i'm sure you guys can't wait! cause whatever is gonna happen, is going to be a bang for ArPee!

Hahaz! Ok, so i really do hope to see you guys at our acoustic set this 12th feb. so..yeap.. it'll be great to see some familiar faces there! aha! so yeap.

Hmm, ok i'm really cool with us covering. As it does help us to destress. so dun take me wrong here k? but i'm seriously more enthusiastic about us doing our originals. i'm serious. like growing in harmony. how about we give Reinventing Yourself a try? Maybe the tune is not right, maybe this maybe that but we can work it out right? how about Different Worlds? are we ever going to do that or not? and how about aisen's new song? how about eve's new song? are we ever going to work on them or just let them be? if we're going to make it, let's mighty well act like we're gonna make it. and while we're at it, why dun we not only act but actually believe that we will make it and give it that extra push. i know we're all caught up academically but really, we can do it if we put our hearts and minds to it! i believe we can. Hello there! This is Johnny Jon Jon here! Updating yet again for my absent band members who are very much busy with their school stuff! Anyways, i was surfing the net and....wow!! Somebody actually reads this blog! Now that's a confirmation! Hahaz! Thanks! *ahem* let me quote what she quoted what i quoted during the AFUA show.

anw the band performing was damn funny and funky I LIKE IT. this red johnny jon jon guitarist keep getting so high by himself and lets name some quotes from him,

johnny jon jon: "hey i have a relation with taufik batisah. i have NO relation with him"
johnny jon jon: "when i say BLOW, i want you all to say JOB"

and he said some brainteaser too but no one got it and no one answered him so he brushed past it and went on to introduce his band.

and this girl member in the band was i think pointing to me on stage and asking whether i was what weikang?!?! gave me a big shock.. and after their performance, the red guitarist came up to us and asked if we enjoyed it and yah nice guy.

Oh yeap, here's my recap of the AFUA show! It wasn't the tightest of sets but i sure did had alot of fun! Especially whipping the crowd into a frenzy with the word game! They were like asking for blowjobs!! Ok..not specifically... But...great! the crowd was really enthusiastic! I hope we get such a response from the next gig at the Thumper Bar!

Anyways, for all of you who actually read this blog, i have written a couple of new songs that the band will work on and will probably perform at least 1 for our next show. The latest that i wrote takes a dark and gothic approach. As compared to the three happy go lucky tuned songs that i wrote. So that's it from me i suppose. That means the band will be working on five new tunes! There's Different Worlds, Turn Back, Earthgrazer, Somewhere Beyond and Angel's Eulogy.

Angel's Eulogy is really a song about a kid who's giving up on life. I've decided to take a break from my usual writing style and strike out on a path less travelled by myself. It's really fun i must say. But depressing!

The rest of them are just typical me songs. I realised that everyone likes a part of my songs but not every single one of em? i safely conclude that maybe someday when i'm that damn good, i'm gonna release an album of my own. Johnny's greatest hits! 1 song with everybody's favourite verse or chorus crammed into it. Oh well..

Ok so there u have it people, a band update! Anyways, i'm collecting emails to add into our mailing list, if you're interested, just mail me at stuck_forever@yourass.com . All the hype about our first gig has probably died down, so we're going to revive your spirits with yet another gig! We're hoping it won't rain, cause we are so going to rock your asses till the seats will burn and you'll have no choice but to stand up and dance on the stage with us. The gig is in 6 days time inclusive of today. And i'm totally wrecked. Nervous yet excited! My second performing gig. It ought to be fun. It's been a long way. ArPee has been together for 2 years now. But if you take away the hiatuses and all the other lame reasons for not jamming, we've been together jamming for less than a month. This month, we jammed more than we jammed in the total of last year. All in preparation for just one gig. It's truly amazing.
